The client wanted an effective wine cellar built in his home. He wanted the structure to house wines and other types of liquor. He also wanted to store bottles of various shapes and sizes in the cellar. Coastal’s team of design specialists made a wine room that matched the client’s needs and style preferences.
One-of-a-kind storage Room Designed by Coastal Custom Wine Cellars
Recently, Coastal Custom Wine Cellars successfully completed the construction of a beautiful storage room in Irvine, a city in Orange County, California. The client in this project wanted his residential cellar to be able to store bottles of various sizes. The expert builders from Coastal built him an effective wine room according to his design specifications.
Custom-designed racks and Displays for Larger Wine Bottles
The client wanted his residential cellar to store not only wine but also other types of liquor. More specifically, he wanted an area in his storage room allocated for his Bourbon collection. To meet this request, the team of cellar builders from Coastal added open bins on the wine room’s right side. These bins were designed to display other kinds of liquor rather than wine.
On the room’s left side, a display row was installed to store large format bottles that range from 1.5 liters to 12 liters. The label-forward shelves allow the wine bottles to cradle safely on the racks. The left and right sides of the residential cellar have shelves designed for magnum-sized bottles. The style of the racking in this project is perfect for those who love collecting wine bottles of various sizes.
The residential wine cellar has a beautiful tabletop, and above it is a stunningly designed arch. Instead of a stemware rack, this arch has an inset on both its left and right sides. The client can keep up to four wine glasses, hung upside down, on each of the inset spaces. Below the tabletop is a set of drawers, which the client uses to store wine-tasting rudiments, such as corkscrews and napkins.
The lighting system installed in this Irvine home wine cellar is breathtaking! Aside from the rich and vibrant lights that brighten up the entire room, there is also concealed lighting that makes the racking and the displays look more stunning.
It was because of the healthy working relationship between the client and the contractor that this project finished successfully. When they started working together, they planned thoroughly, and throughout the duration of the project, they communicated openly. Since the client’s house was close to the main office of Coastal Custom Wine Cellar, the design specialists were able to visit the area easily. Before the construction commenced, the builders were able to take accurate measurements of the space, discuss with the client his many options, present an array of wood finish samples, and provide all the advice that he needed. Because of this good working relationship, the team of experts from Coastal was able to meet all of the client’s requests and design preferences.

Stunning Wrought Iron Wine Cellar Door with a Stellar Arch
It is important to have a properly installed wine cellar door because, without one, the cellar can fall short of being airtight. A low-quality door can cause the temperature and humidity in the room to fluctuate constantly, and consequently, cause the wines to spoil. Besides being dependable and functional, an ideal custom cellar door should be elegantly built. A beautifully designed door can accentuate the aesthetics of a wine storage space. Coastal Custom Wine Cellars designed and built the door for the Irvine residential wine room. The expert builders also made sure that the door was properly installed.
The Irvine custom wine cellar door was made of wrought iron. The door was about eight feet tall and was intricately designed with grapes clusters and vines. The door’s design is known as “The Huntington.” It was coined after a previous client from Huntington Beach who conceptualized and drew the design. There have been many other clients who became interested in this design, and many have used it in their wine cellars.
Coastal Custom Wine Cellars is well-known for its beautiful doors. Clients can choose from a wide range of sizes, shapes, and styles of doors. Coastal offers complete installation services, including the setting up of the self-sealing bottom, dual pane glass, jamb, weather stripping, and casement moldings.
